Trama
Siamo alla fine del diciottesimo secolo: destinato alla deportazione in Australia per un errore giudiziario, un forzato tenta inutilmente la fuga e si salva dalla spietata punizione per l'intervento di una donna che lo ama. Un secondo tentativo di evasione (stavolta in terraferma) ha esito felice, ma egli torna alla nave pronto ad aiutare i compagni colpiti dalla peste. Ottiene per questo la libertà.
