Trama
Dopo essersi trasferito a Pasadena, in Texas, il ragazzo di campagna Bud Davis inizia a frequentare un bar chiamato Gilley's, dove si innamora di Sissy, una cowgirl che crede che i sessi siano uguali. Alla fine si sposano, ma la loro relazione è turbolenta a causa della visione tradizionale di Bud dei ruoli di genere. La gelosia per il suo rivale porta alla loro separazione, ma Bud tenta di riconquistare Sissy trionfando alla competizione di tori meccanici di Gilley.
