Trama
Nell'America del 1909, alle soglie del proibizionismo, il ritratto senza reticenze dell'ascesa e della caduta di un gangster, Tom Powers, dall'infanzia trascorsa nelle strade di un quartiere povero di New York alle prime imprese criminose insieme con il fido amico Matt Doyle, dagli amori travagliati con la fidanzata Kitty e la bellissima Gwen Allen alla tragica fine per mano di una banda rivale.
