Trama
Il detective Philip Marlowe viene ingaggiato da una vecchia e ricca signora per ritorvare una preziosa moneta scomparsa dalla sua collezione privata, il famoso "doblone Brasher". Ma un paio di persone vengono subito uccise e Marlowe capisce che intorno alla moneta ruota una vicenda di ricatti.
