Trama
Il consulente di carriera Michael Thornton decide di cambiare carriera e diventare un attore. Sogna di interpretare Shakespeare, ma finisce in uno spot televisivo in cui sulla telecamera appaiono solo le sue mani. Trova un'amica nell'attrice Mary McAllister (Nicole Kidman) finché non viene chiamata a Hollywood per recitare in un film horror. Katrina Foster interpreta Helen, la comprensiva moglie di Michael, che lo sostiene mentre insegue il suo sogno sfuggente.
