Trama
Nel 1976 Norma Lewis insegna in un liceo privato e suo marito Arthur è un ingegnere che lavora alla NASA. In un momento di particolare vulnerabilità ricevono la visita di Arlington Steward, un uomo misterioso dal volto orribilmente sfigurato, che compare alla loro porta con un'offerta che potrebbe cambiare completamente la loro vita: l'uomo regala infatti alla giovane coppia una scatola di legno con un pulsante rosso. Se i due decideranno di premere il bottone, potrebbero ricevere un milione di dollari, ma allo stesso tempo il loro gesto causerà la morte di uno sconosciuto...
