Trama
Nel XVIII secolo, il figlio illegittimo di un nobile, Jean Paul, è perseguitato dallo zio, marchese di Saint Malot, che lo tratta come un suo servitore. Ormai adulto e innamorato della marchesina Maria, Jean Paul si ribella e si imbarca per il Sud America, dove trova la ricchezza e un vero amore.
