Trama
La polizia di Londra è da tempo alla ricerca di prove per incriminare Vic Dakin (Burton) presunto boss dell'East End, che gestisce un'organizzazione basata sul gioco d'azzardo, sulla droga e sulla prostituzione. L'ispettore Bob Mathews, che non riesce a incastrarlo con le normali indagini, gli tende una trappola, ma Vic tiene in pugno una personalità politica che ricatta per alcuni aspetti scabrosi della sua vita privata.
