Trama
Anni 60: Temple Grandin visita alla fattoria della zia. La ragazza è affetta da autismo, ma la sua mente matematica trova immediatamente applicazioni pratiche nel ranch. Escogita inoltre una soluzione alla sua impossibilità di essere toccata: ispirandosi alle leve utilizzate per tenere fermi i bovini, costruisce una "macchina degli abbracci", in cui stringersi e sentirsi al sicuro. Grazie a questa invenzione affronterà il college e il progetto di introdurre metodi più umani ed efficienti nel campo della macellazione.
