Trama
Ex guerrigliero di Quantrill evita il patibolo grazie a una zitella proprietaria terriera che accetta di sposarlo e lo mette subito al lavoro. 2ª regia di Nicholson per un western in cadenze di commedia. Un po' prolisso nelle sue divagazioni, ma buffo e tenero, con una spiritosa variante dell'immancabile duello finale. Esordio di M. Steenburgen assai pimpante e di J. Belushi nella particina di un cowboy messicano.
