Battleground 2016 è stata la quarta edizione dell'omonimo evento in pay-per-view prodotto annualmente dalla WWE. L'evento si è svolto il 24 luglio 2016 al Verizon Center di Washington D.C. È stato il primo pay-per-view ad includere la seconda brand extension dopo l'abolizione della stessa nell'agosto del 2011 in favore della politica SuperShow, e l'ultimo pay-per-view aperto ad entrambi i roster (fatta eccezione per i Big Four) fino al maggio del 2018.
