Trama
Cina, città di Foshan, inizio del secolo scorso. Il giovane Yip Man (Dennis To Yu Hang) viene affidato dal padre, insieme al fratellastro Ip Tin Chi (Fan Siu-Wong), alle cure di Chan Wah-shun (Sammo Hung), maestro di Wing Chun. Il suo percorso formativo lo porterà a scontrarsi col razzismo degli invasori nipponici ma anche con le radicate ortodossie marziali della sua scuola di Wing Chun.
