Trama
Seconda guerra mondiale: nella Francia occupata un professore (Charles Laughton) viene arrestato e ucciso dai tedeschi per aver propagandato i valori della resistenza ai suoi allievi. Ma prima di morire, in un ultimo gesto eroico riuscirà a leggere alla classe la dichiarazione dei diritti dell'uomo.
