Trama
Finita di scontare la pena, Eddie (Henry Fonda) lascia il carcere deciso a rifarsi una vita onesta con la fidanzata (Sylvia Sidney) che sposerà di lì a poco. Ma trovare lavoro per un ex detenuto è molto difficile e quando un bandito solitario assalta una banca, Eddie viene ingiustamente accusato e arrestato. Disperato, organizza la sua evasione e, con la moglie incinta, tenta un’impossibile fuga verso il Canada.
