Trama
Secondo film di Buñuel dopo Un chien andalou dell'anno precedente, col quale costituisce il vero e proprio manifesto del surrealismo cinematografico (alla sceneggiatura collaborò Salvador Dalì, fra gli interpreti figura Max Ernst). Nei sessanta minuti di proiezione non assistiamo allo svolgersi di una trama ben definita ma, come al solito nei film del regista spagnolo, al susseguirsi di personaggi e di situazioni canonici, in una critica serrata e corrosiva al clericalismo, all'autoritarismo e alla repressione sessuale.
