Trama
Un violento terremoto provoca gravi danni ad una centrale nucleare australiana causando la dispersione di gas radioattivo. L'ingegnere Heinrich Schmidt, consapevole della minaccia che incombe sulla popolazione, tenta di avvertire le autorità, ma i suoi superiori, temendo le ripercussioni economiche dello scandalo, gli impongono di tacere. Fuggito avventurosamente dal laboratorio, Schimdt è soccorso, in stato confusionale, da una giovane coppia in vacanza che lo aiuta a denunciare alla stampa l'accaduto.
