Trama
Dopo aver guarito la gamba dell'assassino John Wilkes Booth, responsabile dell'assassinio del presidente Abraham Lincoln il 14 aprile 1865, durante uno spettacolo al Ford's Theatre di Washington, il dottor Samuel A. Mudd, considerato parte dell'efferata cospirazione, viene condannato all'ergastolo e inviato alla sinistra prigione di Shark Island.
