Trama
Reuben Widdicombe è un bambino ritardato, lasciato da suo padre nell'istituto di recupero del dottor Clarke. Reuben è un introverso molto sensibile che si affeziona senza riserve a Jane Hansen, la nuova assistente. La donna, con le sue attenzioni esclusive e l'adozione di iniziative personali nei suoi confronti, rischia di pregiudicare irrimediabilmente la faticosa opera di recupero.
