The seminar was filmed on October 13, 1972 as clearly stated in the film, but the documentary was not broadcast until 1982, clearly indicated by the fact that the beginning of the documentary gives Lacan's year of death as 1981. Attributions of a U.S. release date in '71 or '72 are not the result of due diligence on the part of those attempting to make an entry.
