Trama
Per la prematura morte del padre Gustavo Adolfo, Cristina diventa regina di Svezia che è ancora una bambina. Una volta cresciuta avverte sempre più il dissidio, che la coinvolge drammaticamente, tra ragione di stato e libertà individuale. Per non rimunciare alla seconda, che la porterà alla conversione al cattolicesimo, rinuncia alla corona.
