Trama
Texas, 1918. La prima guerra mondiale sta avendo un grande impatto su una piccola comunità. Horace Robedaux si rifiuta di abbandonare moglie e figlio, ma suo suocero si offre per sistemare le cose in modo che lui possa partire a combattere per il suo paese. Ma una terribile epidemia si estende sulla cittadina e su tutto il paese, cambiando i progetti di tutti, forzando alcuni a prendere decisioni difficili.
