Trama
Dopo una partita a carte, il sudista Owen Pentecost si ritrova proprietario di un hotel di Denver. Coinvolto da due donne, deve poi fare scelte ancora più fondamentali quando, con l'inizio della Guerra Civile, diventa una piccola minoranza in una città fortemente unionista.
