Trama
Il docente universitario e scrittore Bernard, e la sua instancabile moglie, Joan, una scrittrice emergente, hanno posto fine al loro matrimonio. I loro due figli, Walt, 16 e Frank 12, vivranno l’esperienza diversamente: per Walt sarà un'occasione divertente e toccante di maturazione, mentre per Frank sarà un'esperienza difficile e prematura. Le tensioni emotive di questo difficile periodo vengono ritratte in modo abilmente sottile, cogliendo le sfumature di una famiglia che impara a ridefinirsi.
